KernelNewbies:

If you would like to help out beyond spreading the word, there are several ways to do so, depending on how much time you want to devote to this:

1. Mentor interns in a generic way, like reviewing patches, giving advice on communicating with kernel developers, etc.

2. Review intern applications, and help other mentors out.

3. Add your project to the list of sponsored projects, and mentor an intern with contributions to your project.

If you're interested in any of these options, please contact Julia Lawall.

Option 1: Generic Mentoring

If you would like to do this, please join the outreachy-kernel mailing list.

Also, make sure you're on the #opw channel on irc.gnome.org. That's the channel for Outreachy applicants for all Outreachy projects.

Finally, please join the #kernelnewbies and #kernel-outreachy channels on irc.oftc.net.

Option 2: Helping mentors out

Contact Julia Lawall you want to do this, and she will send you an invite to the mailing list for Outreachy kernel mentors.

We also need people to review the instructions for how applicants can send their first patch. Any help editing the Outreachy specific parts of the kernelnewbies.org wiki is appreciated.

Option 3: Sponsoring a project

If you want to do this, please add your project to our intro page.

If you don't have editing access to kernelnewbies.org, please create an account, and email Julia Lawall with your username. I'll add you to the EditorsGroup page.

You'll also need to create/update your username home page. At the bare minimum, you need to provide your email address, and nicks on the #opw, #kernel-outreachy, and #kernelnewbies channel. Anything else is optional.
