This TODO list is maintained in CVS. You can get the latest version from <http://janitor.kernelnewbies.org/TODO>

Please take a look at SubmittingPatches inside Documentation of the linux kernel source for creating and sending your patches.

Linux 2.6 kernel bugs are tracked at <http://bugzilla.kernel.org/> (same as <http://bugme.osdl.org/>).

The Smatch project (<http://smatch.sourceforge.net/>) writes code to identify Linux kernel problems. You can view the potential Linux problems as found by Smatch at its web page.

The Stanford Checker project locates potential Linux problems and posts the the the Linux kernel mailing list. You can find the potential problems in the email archives or view them at <http://metacomp.stanford.edu/>.

Another source of project ideas are the must-fix and should-fix lists that Andrew Morton maintains in the -mm patchset.
