Submitting kernel patches

This page acts as a guid to people who have finally finished hacking the kernel and are ready to send the patches upstream. Some very good information is already included in the kernel documentation, and this should act as a guideline for everyone, but some things are less obvious or change over time.

Who do I submit to? And how does this person prefer patches?

explain by kernel target version who to send to

explain by category how X prefers patches and link to examples

explain where documentation patches go
